Year 12
Celebrating Success
A number of Redlands crews travelled to the Australian Rowing Championships in Tasmania last week and produced some outstanding results. Oscar Pearce competed in a Redlands Schoolboy Double Scull and performed exceptionally well, making it through to the A Final and finishing seventh in a highly competitive field. The Senior Girls from Year 12, Alanah Winder and Isobel Campbell, joined a composite crew with Mosman and finished second in the Under 19 Coxless Quad, achieving another outstanding result for our rowers. Finally, the Senior Boys 1st Crew of Henry Dobson in stroke seat, Connor Morrison in three seat, Tom Hooper in two seat and Toby Anderson in bow seat, coxed by Henry Preece and coached by Alec Price, delivered an exceptional performance in the Schoolboy Coxed Quad Scull, finishing second. This result is the best a Redlands schoolboy coxed quad has ever achieved at a national level.

Year 12 Easter Egg Hunt
On Tuesday, our Year 12 cohort took part in an Easter Egg Hunt in the Fahl Garden, providing a welcome opportunity to pause, connect and enjoy some light‑hearted fun together.
With over 300 eggs hidden across the garden, students approached the challenge with energy and enthusiasm. There was strong teamwork, plenty of sharing and, unsurprisingly, a fair amount of chocolate enjoyed along the way. Many students were particularly keen to locate the main prize, a large Kinder chocolate egg, which was ultimately found by Finn to much celebration.
The activity was well received and contributed positively to the sense of community within the cohort. It was encouraging to see students supporting one another and engaging so positively in the moment.
A sincere thank you goes to Mr Ripley for organising the event, and to Ms Statham and Mrs Thorne for assisting the Easter Bunny on the day. Their efforts helped make the morning an enjoyable and memorable experience for our Year 12 students.
Balmoral Burn 2026 – Get Involved
Our school community is invited to take part in one of Sydney’s most iconic charity events – the Humpty Dumpty Balmoral Burn, taking place on Sunday 24 May at Balmoral Beach, Mosman.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Balmoral Burn features the famous 420‑metre climb up Awaba Street, all in support of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, which provides life‑saving medical equipment to children’s hospitals across Australia. Please scan the QR code to register.

Future Pathways – Redlands @ ANU Reflection
The Redlands @ ANU event last weekend was a valuable experience for our current students and their parents, giving them the opportunity to hear directly from Redlands alumni who have made the transition to university life at ANU. Students appreciated the honesty and openness of alumni who shared what it was really like to start university, choose courses and settle into residential college life.
Hearing these firsthand experiences helped demystify the move to university and moving out of home, making what can feel like a big step seem more achievable and exciting. The conversations were reassuring, informative and inspiring, and reinforced the strong sense of community that continues beyond Redlands.
