Community Update

It was a pleasure to welcome our Alumni community of Redlanders back to School late last week where memories and reconnections were shared by alumni from the graduating classes of 2021, 2016, 2006, 1996 and 1986.

We continue to ensure important connections with our Redlander community are nurtured and strengthened through our Redlands dedicated Alumni engagement program of local, interstate and international reunions and networking opportunities, along with other special events that include our Alumni Awards where the extraordinary achievements of Redlanders are honoured and celebrated. We greatly value the relationships we have with our Alumni, and our aim is to support a lifelong connection to the School.  For more information and to view photos from our Back to Campus Reunion, click here.

More than 250 families have also been welcomed onto the Junior Campus over the past few weeks for our Preschool, Kindergarten and Junior School engagement sessions, providing key information on these foundational areas for our youngest students. These insightful sessions, presented by our leadership team, were supported by students from our Junior School who hosted small group tours answering questions and providing wonderful insight into life at Redlands for our guests.

A Second Hand Uniform Sale will be held on Tuesday 21 April from 8am to 10.30am at the Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA) unit located at 1 Monford Place (right around the corner from the Uniform Shop, towards the main school Reception). This is a great opportunity to top up on Winter Uniform and Sports clothing, particularly for our Year 9 students heading off on the Moonbah program next term. Donations of clean, good quality, preloved current uniform can be dropped into the Uniform Shop for resale with all funds raised going to the Means-tested Scholarship Fund. Please do not donate socks, swimmers and any other brands which are not sold by the Uniform Shop. My thanks to the parent volunteers for their assistance in delivering this important event.

With the Easter break before us I have been reflecting on our School motto, ‘Let your light shine’, a phrase taken from The Sermon on the Mount, ‘Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven’ (Matthew 5:16 NIV). At Redlands we aim to provide extensive opportunities to enable each student’s light to shine while fostering the light in those around them, and those who need support.

‘Let your light shine’ is an ethos we carry in all our endeavours, and I remain grateful for the guidance and support that our community of staff, students, parents, carers and alumni so generously provide.

Enjoy the term break and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly or the wider Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
