IPSHA Cross Country

Redlands had a strong showing at the IPSHA Cross Country event on Wednesday, held in the grounds of The Kings School at Parramatta. Competing against 51 other schools in IPSHA, Redlands had a total of 39 students participating across various age categories.

We are proud to share that 9 of our students finished in the Top 15 of their respective categories and now have qualified to represent the IPSHA Cross Country team that will compete at the CIS Cross Country championship next term.

  •   Oliver Hasvell (11th)
  •   Antonios Panagakis (12th)
  •   Sebastian Warner (15th)
  •   Oliver Morcos (4th)
  •   Thomas (Tom) Gayner (12th)
  •   Aria Amos (2nd)
  •   Aurelio Nicholas (3rd)
  •   Hugo Lorentz (12th)
  •   Charles (Charlie) Losa (14th)

Congratulations to all students who represented Redlands with determination, sportsmanship and team spirit. A special well done to those students who were representing the School for the first time, your efforts and results are truly commendable.

Athletics Carnival – Field Events Trials

Thank you to all those families who have registered their child to trial so far. In preparation for our Athletics Carnival, we will be running Field Event Pre Trials for the following events for any student who is interested;
Shot Put
Long Jump
High Jump

By giving notice now it allows families to discuss options with their child ahead of time.

Age Groups: there are three age groups for field events. Junior (8/910 Yrs) will be competing against each other, 11 Yrs will be competing against each other and 12 Yrs will be competing against each other

Students will undertake a unit of Athletics in their PE lesson in Term 2 reinforcing what was taught last year in High, Shot, Long and Discus. The exciting element about these pre trials is that by devoting specific time to these individual events students will have multiple attempts, but also have their three or four attempts measured on the day providing feedback.

If you would like your child to trial in the following field events you will have to register them.  Once registrations close that is final, no late entries are accepted. Reminders for registration will come through Note Day, PE classes, class teachers and through Pulse.

Discus will be held on the day of the carnival and students can register in person on the day at this event using their entrant number. You may enter your child in one or all of these trials in your correct age group on the correct day.

Not everyone who attends these trials will progress through to the finals but you will earn colour house points for trialling, regardless of result.

Your child’s age is the age they turn in the calendar year. To register for field events trials please complete your child’s details here. Link here

Representative Sports – Saturday Morning Match Wear

Just a reminder for all families who represent Redlands in Saturday Sport, only Redlands Sports Uniforms and match day kit is to be worn. Each family should own either a school tracksuit and or a fleece that they can wear over the top of their playing kit if they are cold.

Any incorrect item will now be confiscated as all students have received the same message.

Wednesday Sport Inability to Train

If your child has an injury that prevents them from training, please send through an email to Junior Sport juniorsport@redlands.nsw.edu.au requesting they ‘sit out’ of training for that particular session. We can then forward this to the relevant external coaching staff. Where applicable please include when they can return to normal training, so coaches are aware of this. That way coaching staff are aware of an injury that prevents them from participating at the venue but also allows us to be aware of periods where they are medically required to ‘sit out’.

Representative Sport Student Absence

If students are absent on match day, parents are required to complete this online absence form. This will allow your responses to be passed on electronically to your child’s coach efficiently and at short notice. The Student Absence link can also be found on the Junior School Sport Page on Redlands Pulse.

Please don’t hesitate to view our Sport Information page on Redlands Pulse if you have any questions pertaining to Sport.
