From the Principal
Last week we were proud to announce that Redlands has been named one of Australia’s 5-Star Best Schools for 2026 by The Educator, recognising the School’s commitment to delivering an outstanding and well-rounded education.
This national recognition puts Redlands as one of 33 schools from around Australia who demonstrate excellence across a broad range of areas, including academic programs, student wellbeing, innovation, diversity and inclusion, use of technology in learning, extracurricular opportunities and holistic student development. It recognises that great schools are not defined by academic achievement alone, but by the way they nurture and develop young people in all aspects of their lives.
For our community, I hope this recognition affirms what makes a Redlands education distinctive. It reflects our commitment to knowing every student as an individual, nurturing their strengths and providing opportunities for them to discover who they are and what they are capable of becoming. It acknowledges a learning environment where academic excellence is pursued alongside character, wellbeing, creativity, leadership and service.
The award also highlights the breadth of opportunities available to Redlands students. Both in and out of the classroom, students are encouraged to explore their interests, challenge themselves and strive for personal excellence. It also recognises innovative programs that extend learning beyond traditional classroom boundaries, including experiences through our High Country Campus at Moonbah, international and cultural opportunities, enterprise partnerships with universities and business and other future-focused learning initiatives.
It is pleasing that the qualities highlighted in this recognition align closely with our own aspirations for every Redlands student. The Educator’s report announcing the award noted that the best schools are those that combine academic achievement with wellbeing, inclusion, community and the development of capabilities that young people need for the future. These priorities sit at the heart of our educational philosophy and are reflected in our commitment to preparing students to be adaptable, creative, collaborative and capable of making meaningful contributions in a rapidly changing world.
This recognition is also a celebration of the people who bring our mission to life every day. Our staff are central to creating the rich learning environment, strong relationships and culture of care for which Redlands is known. Their expertise, passion and commitment shape the experiences that allow our students to thrive and ensure that Redlands continues to be recognised as a leading Australian school.
We are very proud to receive this national recognition and to see the distinctive strengths of a Redlands education acknowledged more widely. It is a wonderful affirmation of who we are as a community and of our shared commitment to inspire every student to let their light shine.
Spring Fair
Saturday will be a special day at Redlands as our whole school community comes together to celebrate our biennial Spring Fair. There will be plenty of food, fun, games, rides and performances to keep everyone busy throughout the day. There might even be a few special guests prepared to get wet in the dunk tank! I would like to thank in advance the incredible efforts of staff, students and, in particular, the many parent volunteers who have brought this event to life. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Spring Fair on Saturday.
