Community Update
Excitement is building across the Redlands community as we count down to the Spring Fair this Saturday, 12 September. Our Senior Campus will come alive with food, entertainment, thrilling rides, market stalls and activities for all ages, bringing together students, families, staff, alumni and friends of the School for one of the most anticipated events on the community calendar.
Don’t forget to purchase your All-Day Ride Wristbands and Coupon Bundles ahead of the event. With a fantastic range of rides on offer throughout the day, pre-purchasing is the best way to make the most of the Fair and pre-purchase ends midnight tonight!
All day live entertainment. The Fair will showcase the incredible talents of our students from 9:30am to 3pm, with more than 100 performers taking to Stage across 28 performances spanning Musical Theatre, Dance, Gala Arts and Rock Bands.
Families can also enjoy international food stalls, a petting zoo, student-led Innovation Alley, market stalls and Redlands’ famous honey.
Win big at the Spring Fair! Adding to the excitement, don’t miss your chance to win over $3,000 in prizes at the Spring Fair raffle. You could win tickets see Pete Murray or Missy Higgins, gym memberships, private tennis lessons, Twilight at Taronga, Pilates classes, Fidget Showbags or a Gunners Barracks High Tea! Use your coupons or EFTPOS to buy tickets at the Alumni Cafe or at the Raffle Table in Sideshow Alley.
This year’s event has once again demonstrated the extraordinary spirit of partnership that exists across our School community. The Fair is made possible through the dedication of the RPFA, generous volunteers, event sponsors and staff from across Redlands who have worked together to create a memorable day for our students and families.
Importantly, all proceeds from the Fair will be reinvested directly into initiatives that benefit Redlands students.

Voice Notes: Hope in Hard Times
Last week, we concluded our 2026 Voice Notes series with Hope in Hard Times, bringing together environmental conservationist Natalie Kyriacou OAM, social entrepreneur Suzie Barnett and humanitarian leader James Spenceley for a thought-provoking discussion on navigating complexity, uncertainty and change. Our three panellists came from very different worlds: environmental conservation, humanitarian action and social enterprise. Their stories, motivations and challenges were all distinct, yet in almost every answer there was a common thread. Hope is not passive optimism; it is a deliberate decision to pay attention and then to act.
Reflections from the evening highlighted three enduring ideas: the importance of curiosity as the starting point for understanding and action, because people rarely protect what they do not understand and rarely understand what they do not take the time to be curious about; the value of following purpose and people over the pursuit of profit alone, as Suzie said, “Follow the people, not the money. People and purpose”; and the notion that hope is best understood not as a feeling, but as a practice.
Expertly facilitated by our wonderful History Teacher and Voice notes committee member Rachael Riley, the event was a thought provoking and enjoyable evening.
