Assessments This Week

We are so proud of the way our Year 8 students have approached what has been a very assessment-heavy week. In particular, it has been great to see students balancing their academic commitments while also managing stress levels effectively and supporting one another along the way.

Their hard work and dedication have certainly not gone unnoticed. In fact, rumour has it there may be a little treat in store during Tutor time next week to celebrate their efforts!

Moonbah Term Preferences

Over the coming weeks, we will be speaking with students about Moonbah term allocations for next year. Where possible, we are looking to speak to students who would be willing to move between terms to help balance numbers across the program. Our preference is always to work with students and families to find a placement that suits them.

If your child indicates that they are open to changing terms, we will follow this up directly with families via email before any adjustments are made. We appreciate the flexibility and support of our Year 8 community as we work through this process.

Mr Smith and I are both really excited about the opportunities Moonbah offers this cohort. We are confident that students will thrive in this unique learning environment, developing skills, resilience, and independence that will serve them well when they return to Cremorne.

Year 12 2027 Leadership Announcements

Yesterday, students gathered in the Liggins Quad for the announcement of the Year 12 2027 leadership positions. This is always a special event in our school calendar, marking an exciting milestone as our current Year 11 students prepare to step into leadership roles next year.

What stood out most was the incredible support students showed for one another throughout the announcements. Regardless of whether they received a formal title, students celebrated each other’s achievements with genuine enthusiasm. This speaks volumes about the character of the cohort and the strong sense of community they have built together.

We extend our congratulations to all students who were appointed to leadership positions and acknowledge the many students who put themselves forward for these opportunities. Leadership comes in many forms, and we know this cohort will continue to make a positive impact on our school community. We have every confidence that they will be outstanding leaders and role models in 2027.

ICAS

A huge congratulations to the Year 8 students who participated in ICAS testing this week. Attending after-school testing sessions demonstrates a strong commitment to learning and a willingness to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, perseverance, and academic curiosity shown by these students. Thank you for representing Year 8 so positively, and we wish you all the very best with your results.
