Secondary Sport

As we celebrate the 1st Boys Rugby team’s outstanding Grand Final victory last weekend and what a win it was, we also look ahead to another exciting and important week of competition for Redlands Sport. Congratulations to the players, coaches and supporters on a fantastic season culminating in a well-deserved grand final win. The team’s commitment and resilience throughout the season have been exemplary and are a credit to all involved.

Attention now turns to a busy finals week, with several Redlands teams still competing for premiership success. We wish the very best to our 2nd XI Boys, 15A and 13A Football teams as they contest their respective finals. Our Inter A, Inter E and Junior B Netball teams will also be taking the court in pursuit of championship honours, while our 8th and 10th Tennis teams head to Mosman for their rescheduled finals matches.

As the winter season draws to a close, we look forward to celebrating the achievements of our students, coaches and managers at the Winter Sport Dinners on Friday 18 September at The Hilton. These evenings provide a wonderful opportunity to recognise individual and team successes, reflect on the season and thank those who have contributed so much to our sporting programs.

Looking ahead, next week marks the commencement of our Summer Sport season. Students and families are reminded to regularly check Redlands Pulse, team schedules and sport communications to ensure they are aware of training venues, fixture details and key dates. Our Sport Directors and Administrators have been providing a range of news articles and season updates outlining what to expect in the weeks ahead, and we encourage all families to take the time to read these communications carefully to ensure a smooth transition into the summer sporting program.

Best of luck to all teams competing this weekend. We look forward to celebrating your efforts and achievements in next week’s newsletter.

Semi-Finals and Grand Final Update

Welcome everyone to another exciting week of Redlands Football!

The ISA Grand Final Day is fast approaching, but first, let’s reflect on the Semi-Finals played last Saturday, 15 August.

The good news is that our teams were highly competitive, and our players gave everything from the opening whistle until the final whistle. We are extremely proud of the effort, commitment and determination shown by our students.

The 1st XI Boys played a very entertaining and competitive game against St Patrick’s College. Unfortunately, we went down 2–0, but the boys should be very proud of what they have achieved throughout the season. It has been a great season, and they represented Redlands Football extremely well.

The 15A Boys also faced St Patrick’s College in a very competitive end-to-end game. Two well-taken goals, one in each half, secured the victory and booked the 15A Boys a place in the Grand Final.

Congratulations to the players and coaches on an outstanding achievement!

The 13B and 13C Boys travelled to St Patrick’s College and Oakhill College respectively. Both teams gave everything on the day and produced a great effort throughout their Semi-Finals. Unfortunately, they were unable to progress to the Grand Final. Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic season and for the commitment they have shown throughout the year.

The Junior A Girls faced a very tough St Spyridon team that had previously beaten us 5–0. Coaches Maddie Boris and Caitlin Edwards had other plans and  our girls showed tremendous determination and worked very hard to make this a much more competitive contest. They pushed St Spyridon all the way and unfortunately went down 2–1. The girls should be very proud of their performance and the improvement they have shown throughout the season.

The 1st XI Girls have unfortunately been affected by injuries throughout the season, but the team continued to fight hard and showed great character in the Semi-Final against Oakhill. Captain Ingrid Rowe led the team and scored an excellent goal, followed by another great goal from Gabi, giving us plenty of hope. Unfortunately, Oakhill were clinical in the final few minutes and progressed to the Grand Final. Congratulations to the girls for their commitment, resilience and determination throughout a challenging season.

The 2nd XI Boys, Minor Premiers, won their way through to the Grand Final.

Congratulations to the players and coaches on an excellent achievement. Finishing as Minor Premiers is a fantastic reward for their consistency throughout the season.

The 13A Boys produced another incredible comeback!

They took a 2–0 lead against St Andrew’s College, only for St Andrew’s to fight back and level the game at 2–2 but, the question was: Who wants it more? It was our Redlands boys!

The team showed the grit, determination and desire they have demonstrated throughout the entire year to come back and win the game 3–2. What a fantastic achievement and what a way to book their place in the Grand Final!

Grand Final Weekend – Saturday 22 August 2026

Congratulations to everyone on a fantastic season so far.

We now have three Redlands teams competing in the ISA Grand Finals, and we would love to see as many Redlands families, students and supporters as possible at Macquarie University to get behind our teams.

  • 15A Boys vs Central Coast Grammar 12:30pm – Northern Field 1

Hockey

The Redlands Hockey season has now come to an end. All 3 teams had tough seasons with both the 1’s and 3’s barely missing out on semifinals whilst the 2’s took to the semifinal stage last Saturday. The girls played some brilliant Hockey and came out with a 2-2 draw. Unfortunately, due to SACS finishing above us by 1 goal it meant that they take the place in the finals. It was brilliant to have a big crowd of parents and players there to support the girls at Moorebank, emphasising how much the hockey community has grown this season. Well done to all of our players on a brilliant season, we cannot wait to celebrate everyone’s achievements at the EOS dinner.

Training will continue on Thursday this week 2:30pm-5pm.

…GO REDLANDS!

This has been a busy week for our netballers, with some teams playing in Wednesday’s NSW Schools Cup gala day, as well as preparing for their ISA finals. For the first time, our junior school and senior school netballers came together for a great day of fun competition and community spirit. The girls put in a great effort, particularly our Inter As team, who smashed their “friendly” game against our coaches (photos to be shared on the netball pulse page soon)! Huge congratulations to our Y5&6A and Y7&8A teams for winning all their games, qualifying for the Sydney Metro Regional finals in September.

I look forward to seeing our ISA finalists on court on Saturday.

Redlands Tennis – Term 3 Week 5

Another exciting week of Redlands Tennis has seen our players continue to show great commitment, teamwork and competitive spirit as we reach the business end of the season.

With the ISA regular season now complete, it has been fantastic to see the hard work and development of our players throughout the term. The finals have provided a great opportunity for our teams to put their training into practice and compete against some of the best teams in the competition.

ISA Finals Update

A huge congratulations to Team 5, who gave a fantastic effort in their final last weekend. Unfortunately, they went down in a very close final, but should be extremely proud of their performance, commitment and determination throughout the season.

Teams 8 and 10 unfortunately had their finals washed out last weekend. They will now have another opportunity to compete for the championship, with both teams playing their finals this Saturday at Mosman.

A special mention to Team 10, who have had an outstanding season and remained unbeaten heading into the finals. We wish both Teams 8 and 10 the very best of luck and encourage everyone to get behind them and show plenty of Redlands support.

Redlands Internal Competition Finals

This Saturday also marks the finals of our Redlands Internal Competition, with some exciting match-ups to finish the season.

Blue vs Green
3/4 – Aqua vs Yellow

It has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm and improvement throughout the Internal Competition. The competition has provided players with valuable match experience while creating a great atmosphere across the courts.

We look forward to seeing everyone compete, support their teammates and enjoy the final round of the season.

Rugby

The 2026 ISA Rugby season concluded in outstanding fashion on Saturday with our Opens Boys claiming the Premiership with a hard-fought 26–17 Grand Final victory against Okahill. Thank you to all the supporters, both students and families who attended on the day and really rallied behind our boys to get them home.

The Rugby 7’s season wrapped up on Monday evening with the Finals played out at Weigall fields. Our U14s and U16s teams both finished 3rd overall, while the Opens Boys capped off a remarkable campaign by once again being crowned champions.

Congratulations to all players on their efforts throughout the season. We would also like to thank our families and supporters for their commitment, encouragement, and contribution to the program.
